DONATION PROCESSOR (NEWPORT NEWS)

POSITION PURPOSE
The Donation Processing position is responsible for accepting all donations at the Newport News Habitat for Humanity ReStore and will follow the donation processing procedures in a timely and professional manner while focusing on safety and customer satisfaction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The starting pay is $11 per hour for this position.
HOURS OF WORK/REQUIREMENTS
The position of Donation Processing is a minimum 40 hours per week Monday through Saturday, with varying schedule when necessary with the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Newport News, Virginia. The successful applicant will report directly to the ReStore Manager and Processing Supervisor.
This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.).

ReStore Manager & Assistant Manager

- Receive drive through donations from the general public.
- Insure that we accept only donations deemed acceptable by referring to our “Do and Don’t” donation sheet.
- Provide donors with a Donation Receipt.
- Receive truck donations from Habitat trucks.
- Assist Habitat truck drivers with off-loading donations in a safe manner.
- Clean and test all donations and present to a “pricing” staff member.
- Deliver all priced donations to the appropriate space on the sales floor.
- Maintain a clean and safe processing work area.
- Assist guests with their purchases to autos as needed.
- Assist with recycling as needed.
The starting pay is $11 per hour for this position.

Required to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and will experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion.

- Provide exceptional customer service to customers, volunteers and fellow employees.

VACANT
TRUCK DRIVER & PROCESSOR (WILLIAMSBURG)
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore team in Williamsburg and Newport News is now hiring Truck Driver & Donation Processors. This position reports to the Logistics Office Manager and is responsible for transporting, loading and unloading donations to and from the ReStore.
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following:
MUST be available to work Monday through Saturday and Special Events. The typical residential workday runs 8 am to 4:30 pm with ½ hour lunch. Factors such as weather, traffic, etc. may delay your route and cause your return to the office later than 5pm. On occasion, you may be asked to work outside those hours, especially when assisting with Special Events.
Valid Virginia Driver’s license in good standing and a clean driving record are required.

Primary duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the trucks
- Complete daily/weekly/monthly safety check lists on trucks. Keep records in log book located on truck. Report ALL truck issues to the Fleet Coordinator
- Assist with donation screening and pick-ups. Expected to accept upstairs and downstairs donations keeping the safety of donor, their home, driver and assistant a priority
- Assist with loading recycling runs from both ReStore locations
- Assist with unloading and loading all trucks
- Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy at all times to donors, customers, volunteers and fellow employees
- While at ReStore, assist with processing procedures as necessary
- Supervise volunteers when applicable
- Assist with warehouse runs as needed
