The Habitat ReStore in Williamsburg celebrated its two year anniversary with exceptional sales, games, recycling and food for the public to enjoy!
In addition to special sales, activities included gift bags for the first 100 customers, a bake sale, a car wash by students of William & Mary, games organized and run by the ReStore staff and volunteers, aluminum and metal recycling provided by Habitat and refreshments compliments of the Toano and Williamsburg Chapters of Kiwanis.
Habitat for Humanity and Bank of America are pleased to announce a dedication ceremony on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:30AM at a recently renovated home located in Hampton!
This donated Hampton property is part of a three-year national partnership announced last year through which the bank will donate up to 2,000 vacant properties to Habitat for Humanity affiliates nationwide for renovation or reconstruction. This is the 5th home donated to HabitatPGW!
The excited homeowner-to-be is Chontae Cook, who was born and raised in Pensacola, FL and became a resident of Newport News in 2006. Chontae is an employee with the City of Newport News and the mother of a beautiful little girl! Chontae has completed all 200 hours of “sweat equity," and she will repay her no-interest mortgage over a period of 30 years, illustrating Habitat for Humanity’s objective to give families a hand up, rather than a hand out.
