ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The goals of the Habitat for Heroes program are to provide current and former military members with the opportunity to engage in their community by volunteering and to provide former military members access to quality affordable housing.
APPLY
Habitat is always accepting applications for former military members or veterans interested in becoming Habitat homeowners. Please review the information provided below about the program qualifications. A former military member or veteran is defined as a “person who served in the active military, naval or air service, and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable."
Families will be selected for the Habitat for Heroes program according to the program qualifications specified below. Habitat for Heroes families receive a 25% discount off the total house cost. The zero-interest Habitat mortgage will breakdown to about $500-$800 monthly and will include real estate taxes, homeowner's insurance - what a deal!

NEED
Applications are considered if present housing is overcrowded, in poor repair, not affordable or is under a subsidized rental program. Applicant must be a first-time home buyer, meaning the applicant cannot have owned a home within the past three years.
INCOME
Applicants must earn incomes that fall within the following limits. If you don't know your annual income, use the calculator provided.
NEED

If 1 Person Living in the Home
Family income must be at least $26,010, but less than $46,200 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. If 2 People Living in the Home Family income must be at least $29,700, but less than $52,800 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. If 3 People Living in the Home Family income must be at least $33,435, but less than $59,400 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. If 4 People Living in the Home Family income must be at least $37,125, but less than $66,000 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. If 5 People Living in the Home Family income must be at least $40,095, but less than $71,300 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. If 6 People Living in the Home Family income must be at least $43,065, but less than $76,600 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. If 7 People Living in the Home Family income must be at least $46,035, but less than $81,850 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. If 8 People Living in the Home Family income must be at least $49,005, but less than $87,150 a year. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony count for the family. |
